After graduating from University College Oxford Peter spent a year teaching in Greece before commencing his pupillage with the late Cecil Henriques. At that time undefended Divorce was popular and Cecil had the biggest family practice in England.
Throughout his career Peter has been involved in all areas of family work. He represented Lady Matthews in the divorce of Stanley Matthews. In more recent years Peter has specialised in public law care work, private residence disputes and ancillary relief.
Peter also specialises in industrial disease cases; he has acted for many claimants in noise induced deafness and work related upper limb disorder claims.
In addition, Peter has considerable experience of clinical negligence; most notably, last year he was involved in a £3,000,000 award in a cerebral palsy case.
For many years Peter has appeared in criminal cases and civil actions against the police. In May 2009 he was briefed to appear in the Court of Appeal in a murder "baby shaking" case involving consideration of detailed medical evidence.
In his spare time Peter advises national newspapers on defamation and contempt. He lives in the City Centre and in Cheshire.
