Anthony Mazzag has recently secured a settlement of £5.75 million in a below the knee amputation case. It was particularly important for the Claimant to settle the claim as soon as possible and, during the course of the lockdown periods, significant work was carried out so that the claim was in a very advanced state within a short period of time. By adopting a collaborative approach with the Defendant, the Claimant was able to settle his claim at the first Costs and Case Management Conference thereby avoiding 18 months or so of further litigation which he was keen to avoid. Anthony was instructed by Rose Gibson at Simpson Millar and the Defendant was represented by David Heaton KC instructed by Horwich Farrelly.
