Ellie Akhgar, instructed by Lyndsey Brown of Morgan Brown & Co, has successfully defended a case of two sexual assaults on a child under 13 and two matters of sexual activity with a child under 13.

The case was heard at Manchester Youth Court during which Miss Akhgar embarked on the sensitive cross examination of a 10-year-old child who had been 8 years old at the time of the allegations.  The case required close scrutiny of the way in which the complainant had been questioned by the Detective Seargent during her video evidence.  The officer in the case was also cross examined as to the deficiencies in the investigation. The child defendant was acquitted of all four matters after a three-day trial.
