Robert Sterling has been successful in two recent libel cases.

Francis v Pearson and Burston [2024] EWHC 605 (KB) was a strike-out application on the ground of 14 months delay in taking a step in the action. The case is of general interest as it shows the importance of a claimant having to pursue the Court to fix a case management conference when it has failed to do so.

Parsons v Atkinson [2024] EWHC 888 (KB) involved a poison-pen letter, which the defendant, the watch manager of a Lake District fire station, was alleged to have read out aloud to his fellow fire officers. The claim was defeated.
